Two regular dudes, who love the outdoors, are putting together a feature length documentary focusing on an eclectic group of friends rafting down the majestic canyons of the Green River. The documentary is called River Ties.
In this 3-part interview, Guy and Matt allow us to get to know them a little bit a whole lot better. In Part 1, these gentlemen bare their souls and share their innermost thoughts. Part 2 focuses on the River Ties project itself and the logistics and funding (and why the project is on Indiegogo). And we wrap everything in Part 3 with Matt and Guy sharing their river expertise and tips to help you decide if you want to embark on a river adventure.
Meet Guy Giamo-McClung and Matt Kocourek.
HCRB: With 5 adjectives, describe yourself.
Guy: Boisterous, jocular, lithe, plucky, ginger.
Matt: Tenacious, amiable, ambitious, old-soul, lean.
HCRB: If money were no object and you hosted a premiere party for River Ties, what food are you serving and what two bands are playing music?
Guy: Burgers and brats and right now, probably Alt J and Ellie Goulding.
Matt: We will even add the sand to your burger or brat to get the true river experience.
HCRB: Okay, so really, when and where is the premiere party and should we bring hummus?
Guy: The premiere will be at the Springfield Brew Co in February though we’re anxious to find a venue for a showing in KC! Hummus is never inappropriate.
HCRB: Did you drink from the Green River?
Guy: We actually carried all the water we would need in plastic jerry cans, but we would if we had to.
HCRB: Did you pee in the Green River? Continue Reading
