Meet The Artists Behind River Ties: Guy Giamo-McClung and Matt Kocourek

July 14, 2013 by Jason Clements

Two regular dudes, who love the outdoors, are putting together a feature length documentary focusing on an eclectic group of friends rafting down the majestic canyons of the Green River.  The documentary is called https://themauimiracle.org/bonus/achat-cialis-100mg/64/ https://indiana.internexus.edu/courses/big-data-essay-questions/52/ https://www.gec-group.com/sectors/viagra-o-similares-en-espaa/198/ follow url how to write good pa essay male viagra before and after size are you supposed to take cialis daily how to end a descriptive writing essay cheap viagra missouri smoking essay introduction national nursing home administrator test help source link sildenafil hormosan wikipedia go https://greenacresstorage.net/simple-steps-to-writing-an-essay/ https://vivianschilling.com/film/classification-and-division-essay-examples/61/ comprar cialis chile essay about heroes about my mom https://shilohchristian.org/buy/buy-cheap-law-essay-competitions/54/ https://vgdev.gtorg.gatech.edu/buyonline/discount-prescription-drugs-online/1/ https://completecompetentcare.com/19754-kamagra-wiki-nederlands/ viagra soft tabs bestellen todesflle bei viagra format of a report writing argumentative research college essay with citations see essay on use of physics in daily life creative writing on discovery breaking the mould essay outline https://riversideortho.com/biverkning-viagra/ comparative essay on macbeth and catcher in the rye River Ties.

In this 3-part interview, Guy and Matt allow us to get to know them a little bit a whole lot better.  In Part 1, these gentlemen bare their souls and share their innermost thoughts.  Part 2 focuses on the River Ties project itself and the logistics and funding (and why the project is on Indiegogo).  And we wrap everything in Part 3 with Matt and Guy sharing their river expertise and tips to help you decide if you want to embark on a river adventure.

Meet Guy Giamo-McClung and Matt Kocourek.

HCRB:  With 5 adjectives, describe yourself.

Guy:  Boisterous, jocular, lithe, plucky, ginger.

Matt:  Tenacious, amiable, ambitious, old-soul, lean.

HCRB:  If money were no object and you hosted a premiere party for River Ties, what food are you serving and what two bands are playing music?

Guy:  Burgers and brats and right now, probably Alt J and Ellie Goulding.

Matt:  We will even add the sand to your burger or brat to get the true river experience.

HCRB:  Okay, so really, when and where is the premiere party and should we bring hummus?

Guy:  The premiere will be at the Springfield Brew Co in February though we’re anxious to find a venue for a showing in KC! Hummus is never inappropriate.

HCRB:  Did you drink from the Green River?River Ties. On the river3

Guy:  We actually carried all the water we would need in plastic jerry cans, but we would if we had to.

HCRB:  Did you pee in the Green River?  Continue Reading

Free Movie Friday: On and Off The Wagon with Jan Hojer

June 14, 2013 by Jason Clements

Jan Hojer sends Chris Sharma’s Off The Wagon from Dosage 4

In Big Up Productions Dosage 4, we see Chris Sharma and Dave Graham in Switzerland.  If you have seen D4, you’ll recall that Chris is interpreting the candle wax to find how the weather will be the next day.  “The wax never lies,”  we hear Sharma state.  And then we find Chris and Dave working a crazy line that starts from standing on top of a wagon that is parked right next to a boulder; and continues with the craziest swinging campus moves.  The line is not sent in the movie and we are left wondering what happened.

As a fan of the Big Up movies, I always wondered what happened with this boulder problem.  The way Big Up usually tells stories is with a hint of “to be continued” from one of their movies to the next.  We see that style in Kings Lines and then Progression with Sharma working on the Clark Mountain project “Jumbo Love.”  So, I expected that at some point, we would see “Off the Wagon” get sent in one of the more recent Big Up movies.  Surprisingly, we never find out what happens to that problem from Big Up.

It wasn’t until I found out about Jan Hojer and finally saw the send of that beautiful boulder problem.   This is a really cool vid.  Enjoy!

Recipe Review: Lipsmakin’ Backpackin’ Berry Milk Shake

May 3, 2013 by Jason Clements

Berry Smoothie

At first glance, this looks like a super easy recipe with satisfying food that will be easy to take on any day-trip to multi-week trip.  And, it is a very affordable recipe with the 4 lb bag of frozen berries from Costco as the most expensive item at $9.99. I knew I would use all the berries in some manner, so I didn’t mind dehydrating the whole bag.  But, as I got to the end of trying it out this milk shake at home, this recipe ended up being a bit of a clean-up nightmare and it really didn’t have a great flavor either.

Border-to-Border Berry Milk Shake Details

  • Dehydrate frozen berries – any
  • Add dried banana chips
  • Add powdered milk
  • Add powdered buttermilk

Blend all ingredients until a fine powder.  Store in zip-lock bag.  While on hike, just add water to a few tablespoons of powdered smoothie, and ta-dah, you have a Berry Milkshake in the wilderness!  Well, almost.

Dehydrating

I use the Excalibur 3900B 9 Tray Deluxe Dehydrator, Black.
