The ClimbSkin Review Pros and ConsI enjoy rock climbing, and more specifically, I enjoy bouldering.  Every sesh, I want to improve.  I want an edge.  https://laralafayette.org/classes/sample-essay-why-i-want-to-attend-your-college/91/ abigail adams research paper farmacia contrareembolso cialis autry fellowship application essay follow how 2 get levitra for free ambien itchy skin thesis write my https://astro.umbc.edu/blog/viagra-not-as-effective/199/ essay on advantages and disadvantages of kite flying https://www.cuea.edu/cueapress/?paper=english-essay-writing-sites signs he takes viagra sbl dissertation series emo culture essay https://lifesciencecares.org/news/how-long-to-take-effect-cialis/195/ https://stonecottagegardens.com/fda/viagra-for-weman/14/ wwii essay topics click here ap language and composition synthesis essay invasive side effects of kamagra gel buy viagra online using paypal australia viagra luxemburg essay on honor code no homework for students allegra 40 led drug awareness essay ideas extended essay purdue owl viagra y carlos herrera viagra natural para hombres y mujeres follow link can you take viagra at a young.age I want my skin healthy and strong so that my skin is not limiting my improvements.

So when my friend, Richard Lonski told me that he completed a birthday challenge that included something like a hundred laps – and he did NOT destroy his hands – because he used Friction Labs ClimbSkin, that got my attention.

Just so you know my biases, I have an affiliate account with Frictions Labs.  They make excellent chalk – it is worth trying if you are serious about improving your climbing.  You might like it; you might not.  That’s okay.

Keah Kalantari is one of the Founders at Frictions Labs – he shipped me a container of ClimbSkin at no cost to me.  He didn’t request a review in return for the ClimbSkin.  I did this experiment with ClimbSkin of my own accord.

ClimbSkin Review Pros and Cons: Here is My Experience

Pros:

  • ClimbSkin really works.  An Example:  I spent 6 hours working on a horizontal roof problem with little skin damage and nearly no skin soreness afterwards.
  • You only use a little bit with each application.  It should last many months for the average climber who climbs 3 to 4 times per week.
  • Friction Labs offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee
  • Many, many testimonials of real, satisfied customers
  • Solid owner, solid team behind it
  • You don’t need to be a climber to benefit from ClimbSkin

Testimonial from a Nurse I know through THE Climbing Community

ClimbSkin Testimonial from a NurseCons:

  • Chemicals in the ingredients
  • On sale ClimbSkin costs $20 per ounce
  • Your skin might become too callused (You must add an emery board to your kit.)
  • The label states:  Topic[al] Use Only

ClimbSkin By Friction Labs Review Their Labeling is Stupid

April 12, 2016 by Jason Clements

ClimbSkin By Frictions Labs Review*** UPDATE 4-12-16  …and just like that, Friction Labs have the information on their website updated so that the ingredients listed online match the ingredients listed on the container.

I think I’ll turn this article into a “How Excellent Companies Respond To Criticism” or something like that…

ClimbSkin By Friction Labs Review – Their Labeling is Stupid

I received a container of ClimbSkin from Friction Labs at no cost to me.  There was no request from them for me to review it.  I don’t owe them anything; but part of what I do here at HCRBeta is support entrepreneurs and small businesses.

When I wrote about Friction Labs chalk, I gushed.  It is excellent chalk.  It is a little pricey, too.  However, one principle that I have learned is that the best customers are the ones who recognize the value of expertise.  You don’t have to market to people who consider cheapness a desirable quality.

I’ve got 2 things to say about ClimbSkin:

  1. ClimbSkin is Awesome.  It Works Like a Magic Glove That Gives You +10 Protection For Your Skin
  2. ClimbSkin’s Labeling is Stupid.  It Will Make Many Consumers Angry (Maybe F.L. didn’t realize there is a big difference in their web language and the actual label.)

Let me get the critical out of the way.  Once they fix their labeling, this article goes away.  So the “ClimbSkin is Awesome” portion of this review is going to be here: (_____).

ClimbSkin Ingredients Labeling

I deserve, as do all consumers, to know what the ingredients are in a product; especially a product that is going to be absorbed into my skin and into my body.

Using the phrase “…just natural ingredients…” is a stupid mistake by ClimbSkin’s marketing team.  Every smart consumer knows that “natural” means nothing.

Meet Kevin Brown: Owner at Friction Labs and Denver Bouldering Club

HCRB:  What makes Friction Labs climbing chalk so special?

Kevin:  We use higher grade compounds to make our chalk.  The end result is a chalk with very high Magnesium Carbonate and very low Calcium Carbonate.  We also offer 3 different textures so climbers can pick their favorite.

HCRB:  How in the world did you come up with the idea to make a chalk company?

Kevin:  We grew frustrated at running out of chalk and being stuck with what ever the gym had in stock.  We started researching chalk and found that there are a bunch of distributors out of China, so we went a different direction and researched all of the options and production methods.  From there we went to the lab and got to work.  Right away we felt a difference, had all of our friends try it and they all said it was way better.  We knew we had a better product, so we figured out texture and started offering subscriptions, so you never had to be with out your favorite chalk.

Climbing Chalk Review: Friction Labs Climbing Chalk

December 4, 2014 by Jason Clements

Friction Labs 3

CLIMBING CHALK REVIEW;  FRICTION LAB CLIMBING CHALK

Summary

Purchase some of the World’s best climbing chalk at The Friction Labs Store.

Pros:

  • Friction Labs Climbing Chalk (F.L.) does climbing chalk the right way.
  • F.L. is significantly better than the “Wal-Mart-style” cheap chalks; and a solid degree better than, what I believe was the premiere brand of chalk, Bison.
  • F.L. is stickier and lasts longer on your hands for multiple burns.
  • F.L. has the science to back up their claims.
  • F.L. has a robust website that will answer all of your questions.
  • F.L. has 3 different blends to choose from: Bam Bam, Gorilla Grip, Unicorn Dust
  • F.L. has a very convenient auto-ship service.
  • F.L. creates a relationship with their fans.
  • F.L. can be used in your regular workouts with dumbbells, kettlebells, etc.

Cons:

  • You will pay more for a quality product.
  • I don’t like the wording of their guarantee.  But I am certain that if you don’t act like a complete grocery bag, and you happen to be the 1 out of 1,000,000 people who may not like the F.L. chalk, their customer service will probably treat you right.

A Little Background on My Opinion – I Have Been a Bison Chalk Snob

I am a chalk snob in the same way that I am a beer snob.  Bud Light just doesn’t taste like anything I want to put in my mouth.  Gross!  Give me a Boulevard Tank 7 and I can taste the fruit tanginess and full flavor and the long crisp finish.  Pair that Tank 7 with any pizza and I am in Heaven.

Evolv Chalk made in China
Evolv Chalk made in China

Yeah, I’ve tried all the Wal-Mart-style cheap chalks like Metolius, Evolv, Black Diamond.  Those are just entry-level chalks.  Plain and simple.  You can burn through a brick or container of that cheap stuff in a busy weekend.  All of those are gritty and you just about have to chalk up after every single move.  You really get what you pay for with those brands…not much besides the basic idea of chalk to keep your hands dry.
