Hobo Hammock vs ENO Hammock Reviewed Side by Side

This video outlines the basic advantages and disadvantages of both brands. This Hobo Hammocks vs ENO video will give you some good guidelines on what to look for when considering your next hammock purchase. Please enjoy the video below: Hobo Hammock vs Eno Hammock Reviewed Side by Side.

  • The ENO comes with a compression strap and the Hobo does not.
  • I don’t like the carabiners that came with my Hobo or ENO hammocks.  I end up using my own locking carabiners.
  • Hobo Hammocks includes hanging straps in their purchase price.  The ENO does not – you have to pay extra with ENO.
  • The Hobo Hammock is bigger than the ENO.  The ENO is truly a one-person hammock.
  • The end of the cord of the Hobo Hammock is finished with a sloppy end.  The end of the ENO cord is neat and crisp.
  • The nylon of both hammocks is similar.
  • Hobo Hammocks supports their community and I really like that about their company.

Compression StrapENO has a compression strap

The ENO comes with a compression strap and the Hobo does not.  Because I use my own carabiners (you’ll see in the next point) I have enjoyed the convenience of clipping my biners to the compression strap of my ENO.  And if you are all about packing your gear down to the smallest possible volume, you might enjoy the ENO better than the Hobo.  It is up to you.

CarabinersHobo Hammock vs ENO Hammock Reviewed Side by Side Carabiners

I don’t like the carabiners that come with either Hobo or ENO. The carabiners that came with my ENO and Hobo have sharp ends. I don’t like either of them. I end up using my own carabiners. (I have not seen the new wire carabiners that come with ENO hammocks now.)

Hanging StrapsHobo Hammock vs ENO Hammock Reviewed Side by Side Hanging Straps

Hobo Hammocks include hanging straps in the $59.00 purchase prices. ENO hammocks do not include hanging straps in their $84.95 purchase price – you’ll have to spend even more money.

Hammock SizeHobo Hammock Review bigger than ENO Double Eagle

The Hobo Hammock is bigger than the ENO hammock. The Hobo Hammock is 10 ft x 6 ft 6 inches. The ENO hammock is 9 ft 4 inches x 6 ft 2 inches.

Ends of the Hammock Cords / KnotsHobo Hammock vs ENO Hammock Reviewed Side by Side Hobo KnotHobo Hammock vs ENO Hammock Reviewed Side by Side ENO Knot

When you look at the ends of the cord that runs through the hammocks – the ENO end is neater and crisper; where the Hobo end is a little sloppy.

Nylon Material

The nylon on both hammocks is very similar.  Hobo describes theirs:  Parachute Nylon.  ENO describes theirs:  Quick-drying Nylon.

Community and Giving BackHobo Hammock vs ENO Hammock Reviewed Side by Side Community

I like that Hobo Hammock is very involved with their community – they feed the homeless in their community. Hobo Hammocks also has a recycle and reuse program.
