1. Kick out the constant complainers…and their ringleader
2. Kick out the community agitators

4. Kick out the mouth breathers
5. Kick out the ones with misplaced energy
6. Kick out the Christians

Now just the priest and the Irish guy are meeting…
So kick out the alcoholics…
…and now there is no community.
I guess I don’t have to write out the other 37 ways.

So kick out the boulderers?
I liked the mission when it was to “help new climbers to be safe and all climbers to be psyched.”
(Shouldn’t we help all climbers be safe, too?)
Helping someone to be safe is concrete: “Put your helmet on.”
Helping someone to get psyched is concrete: “AL MUERTE!!!!”
Fostering the community is obtuse.
Supporting each other is less obtuse.
Well, who has been fostered? Maybe you need to be smart in order to foster…
So kick out anyone with a Ph.D.? Or only kick out the eloquent Ph.D.’s
Not many of “us” are climbers. Sure we “climb” and go to the mountains and go outside and look at the stars.
And when we catch a shooting star, we sublime. But we are not climbers.
However, all of us are humans.
And, climbing isn’t important.
Screeeeeeech! What?
Now we have to kick out those who can do sound effects with their mouths.
Climbing isn’t important.
I like Joe Rogan. I like MMA.
Joe says: “If you ever start taking things too seriously, just remember that we are talking monkeys on an organic spaceship flying through the universe.”
Joe might be right. Agree or disagree. I don’t care. I am not a monkey and I do not talk with a monkey voice.
Now kick out those with the wrong philosophies and the wrong voice?
All of us might be good at a few things.
Some of us can climb harder than others. Some of us can belay or spot better than another. Some of us discover. Some of us explore. Some of us play it safe. Some of us take risks.
Some of us hunt snakes. Some of us kick the hornet’s nest. Some of us have put our nose where it doesn’t belong.
Some of us live. Some of us almost die. Some of us die.
Some of us know how to enjoy a vista. Some of us are really good at capturing that vista on a camera, on canvas, or through words.
Some of us have amazing smiles. Some of us have warmth. Some of us are unassuming. Some of us care. Some of us love. Some of us give. Some of us take.
Some of us complain.
Some of us agitate.
Some of us have egos.
Some of us are mouth breathers.
Some of us have misplaced energy.
Some of us are Christians.
Some of us are gay.
All of “US” are a community.
And now, I am not talking about climbing.
All of us are a community.
And I don’t have 44 ways to improve anything.
I can only improve me.
I hope to improve myself 1% today…and again tomorrow…and so on. Maybe I will improve. Maybe I won’t. I don’t know.
Tomorrow I might misplace my energy.
And this isn’t a message about how we all need to get along.
We won’t…
…because we are all human.
So, here are…
